Drug addiction is effecting millions of people in the United States. Learn how to understand drug addiction and tips on how to help those addicted to drugs in this article. Millions of people in the United States are addicted to drugs and alcohol and the problem of addiction is growing. How does one get addicted? Quite simply someone tries a harmful substance, they like the effects, they use it again and again until the body feels a need to have it as much as possible. The person then has to resort to all sorts of ways and means to continue getting the substance, many times resulting to stealing and other illegal activities.
